Why Study In Germany?

Germany (Deutschland) is the fourth most popular destination among international students in the world.  In comparison with other countries, Germany is a safe country. In town or in the countryside, by day or by night, one can move around freely here. Germany offers economic and political stability, which makes it an ideal place to study.

German universities provide outstanding academic programmes, while universities of applied sciences offer a range of attractive, practice-oriented options and excellent teaching and research, ranking among the best in the world. A lot of universities collaborate with companies. Many study programmes combine theory and practice. This will greatly facilitate your career start.

Job Market for Graduates

Germany is a large economy with countless opportunities for foreign graduates. Unlike many other European nations, Germany’s economy is not centered around one or two specific locations. Industrial hubs are scattered across the country: Hamburg is home to trade and media companies; Munich and Stuttgart are strong in automotive and manufacturing; Frankfurt is the leading financial capital. Strangely, Berlin does not have strong industrial presence but has developed into Europe’s start-up capital over recent years.

Speaking German is almost always a prerequisite especially for entry-level jobs. The common exceptions are jobs in tech/IT, and jobs at internationally oriented start-ups – particularly in start-up hubs like Hamburg or Berlin.

Work Opportunities in Germany after Graduation

Once graduated from a German university, there are numerous job opportunities on the German job market for international graduates. Students from non-EU countries are allowed to remain in Germany for the purpose of looking for employment for a maximum of 18 months after graduating. There are no time restrictions on working during the job search phase. It is advisable to start job hunting during the final semester of your degree, or at the latest four months before finishing your studies.
