For admissions into BBA courses, students are needed to clear the 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized board or school. Some colleges consider the criteria of securing 50% marks in the qualifying exam. The age should be between 17 to 25 years. The basic mandatory requirement of B schools in India is usually CAT or GMAT. Overall, there are 6 nationalized tests approved by AICTE (GMAT, CAT, MAT, ATMA, NMAT, XAT and CMAT).
While the CAT, MAT, XAT, IIFT, NMAT, SNAP, etc., are accepted by only the related institution and limited B-schools, GMAT is accepted by a larger range of B-schools across India. By taking the GMAT exam, a candidate has the advantage of applying to business schools across the globe.
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a management course with more practical approach and Industry oriented. The curriculum of the course is quite similar to that of MBA with an aim to impart Management training programmes amongst the students by following up with rigorous case studies and seminars to prepare the students for the Industry.
PGDM course duration is of 2 years and in order to be eligible for the course, candidates must have completed graduation preferably from management. But graduates from any stream can apply for this course. Admission is mostly based on entrance exams like MAT, CAT, XAT, and more.
